Airport Ground
Transportation
The Oregon Convention Center, meeting hotels, and Portland State
University dorms are all easily accessible from the airport via MAX
light rail.
No shuttle
service will be provided for Evolution 2010. The light rail platform
is at the
west end of the terminal near the Alaska/Horizon baggage claim
area. MAX Red
line trains leave the airport for City Center every 15
minutes between 5:00 AM and Midnight. Mark Kavanagh / Ktransit.com
Make your travel arrangements to arrive at PDX well before midnight for light rail transportation to your accomodations. Your all-zone pass ($2.30) can be obtained before you board MAX from vending machines inside the terminal and on the platform (debit/credit accepted). For convention center hotels, exit MAX at the Rose Quarter Transit Center (about 30 minutes). For the PSU dorms, transfer to a "Green" or "Yellow" line train toward PSU at the Rose Quarter (about 15 minutes to PSU from the convention center). All hotels, dorms, and the convention center are within a few blocks of the MAX lines. Meeting attendees arriving after midnight will need to obtain a taxi ($25 - $30) for travel to their hotel or dorm (note that if you are staying at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, free shuttle service is available).
